This 6 x 4 ft Used Welding Manipulator provides the operator with a wide range of articulation to accurately position the torch for complex joint configurations. The slides are all mounted to a pivoting king pin which offers up to 15 degrees of tilt in either direction. This can be finely controlled with the hand wheel driven acme screw gearbox. By tilting the slides the torch movement can be aligned to match the angle of the part being welded. This comes in handy when welding on the inside of pipe flange that is tilted to allow access to the joint. This manipulator / head director setup works well when combined with a positioner or a set of pipe turning rolls. This provides a sturdy torch holding mechanism while the part is rotated beneath the welding arc.
