This Bancroft 605 welding lathe features twin torches. These two torches are installed so that the machine can weld two seams at once. With this dual head girth welding lathe, the operator can choose to weld with one of the torches or both at the same time. The two welding heads are equipped with Bancroft wire feeders which work well when used with a Miller GMAW power supply. The torches are on movable spotting cars that feature pneumatic slides. These slides are on an angle so that the torches move up and back when they are not in use. This gives the operator additional space to load and unload the part compared to a strictly vertical slide. There are two slides to control fine torch adjustment on each head. These X and Y cross slides provide 4″ of movement in each axis. The machine features a pneumatic clamping tailstock on an adjustable slide table. This adjustable slide allows the machine to be setup for a variety of part lengths. The controls package incorporates an overlap timer.
