70 ft Pandjiris Side Beam with PBT 12 840 Carriage – Product Description

They don’t get much longer than this 70ft Pandjiris side beam. This side beam has the PBT 12-840 carriage from Pandjiris. This Linde-style carriage is equipped with cam follower bearings and large cast wheels, which make this carriage tough enough to hold even the heaviest welding processes. This unit is currently set up for MIG (GMAW) welding with a tactile seam tracking system. The seam tracker was manufactured by Cyclomatic, one of the most popular in the industry.  This seam tracker has a 5 5-inch X-axis and a 5-inch Y-axis movement. The seam tracker maintains location over the weld seam by using a tactile probe to track the seam. This probe rides ahead of the arc, and as it detects up/down or left/right variances in the seam, it adjusts to maintain its relationship with the workpiece. These tracking systems greatly improve weld accuracy, especially in situations where the welding equipment may obstruct views of the seam or when the size of the part limits the operator’s view. This side beam and carriage system also has a rack and pinion drive, unique to a beam this long. This rack and pinion drive ensures that you get positive movement down the length of the beam, unlike a typical friction-driven setup, which may slip under heavy loads.
